Who has never heard strange noises coming from their cellar? Is it just our imagination or is there something more?
The show features Mengone Torcicolli's nineteenth-century mask from the Marche region.
Our sympathetic and pragmatic farmer will have to face an enigma that will undermine his beliefs: monsters exist. On a dark and stormy night, going down to the cellar to get a bottle of wine he will discover the presence of a terrible being with ball eyes and sharp teeth.
The initial fright will soon give way to compassion for a being that is only terrifying in appearance but in reality does not want to hurt anyone. In fact, Mengone will soon realize that the monster can be useful for housework and in the countryside until the arrival of the circus in the city will mess up everyone´s plans.
The ringmaster, with his helpers Rugantino and Brighella, will try to take the monster to make it into a great attraction. Will Mengone be able to save his new friend from this sad fate?
